yardflowers 2026
This flower series is a bit different from years past. In April, which is typically the time of year I work on the yardflowers series, nothing is yet blooming in Kenny Lake, Alaska. In fact, ponds are still frozen, there’s snow on the ground, and spring as I am used to it is a ways off yet. Instead of fresh, in-the-ground blooms, my focus this year is on the cut flowers my husband has brought home from our trips into town. These images were created from the spent and discarded flowers that were left outside for sometimes months in sub-zero temperatures. This series is in progress. <3
