Kirsten Mashinter Lawrence is a photographer and letterpress printer in Kenny Lake, Alaska. Much of her photographic work has been influenced by 30 years of exploring the Great Basin region of Nevada. Her letterpress work is more recent and coincides with her move back to Alaska in 2024 (Kirsten grew up in the tiny town of Hyder). Kirsten’s photography and letterpress prints are inspired by her surroundings: color, emotion, and ground-level minutia all provide fodder for her creative processes. Whether she is holding a camera or a piece of wood type, Kirsten creates from her heart’s experience of life.
